Friday June 27 - Esquimalt Lagoon, Coburg Peninsula

NOTE: In preparation for the Arts and Culture Colwood Society's upcoming Plein Air Show Aug 28 to Sep 28, we have been setting locations in the Colwood area more frequently than usual. Hope you all save some good work for the show.

Hatʸu Alfrescoes. This Friday June 27 2025, we will be painting at the Esquimalt Lagoon, along the Coburg Peninsula (map  here ). For our Show'n'Tell, we will meet at Noon at the bridge, near the north end of the peninsula. Public washrooms are available at the south end of the peninsula.

Friday June 20 - Willows Beach

Thôbêla Alfrescoes! This Friday June 20 2025, we are painting at Willows Beach in Oak Bay (map  here ). We will meet at noon on the beach next to the parking lot for our Show'n'Tell.

Friday June 13 - Royal Roads - Blue Heron House

Bures Alfrescoes. This Friday, June 13, 2025, we will be painting near the Blue Heron House, along the shore of Esquimalt Lagoon at Royal Roads. A map to the location can be found  here . For the Show'n'Tell at 12:00 Noon, we will meet near the parking lot.

Friday June 6 - Government House

Салам! Alfrescoes. Our next paint-out (Friday June 6 2025) will be at Government House (1401 Rockland Street). There is limited parking at the House but if you drive up and go past the house, take the left driveway. There is plenty of parking at the bottom. Click  here  for a map. We can meet at noon in the glass gazebo for our Show'n'Tell, located in the front gardens (circled in red in the image below).

Friday May 30 - Pendray House (Old Coast Collective)

Fakaalofa atu ki a mutolu Alfrescoes. This Friday May 30 2025, we will be painting at Pendray House (Old Coast Collective Site). See the  map  for the location. We will have our Show'n'Tell at Noon on the lawn in front of Pendry House.

Parking is available in the upper lot (see map) and please do NOT paint beyond the mowed sections of lawn on the ocean side of Pendray House because the surrounding tall grass is a bird sanctuary.

Friday May 23 - Saanichton Bay Park

Lotjhani Alfrescoes. This Friday, May 23 2025, we will be painting at Saanichton Bay Park (map  here ). Parking is available on a side street, just off Mt. Newton Cross Road (see below, labelled "park access road"). We will meet at the parking area at Noon for our Show'n'Tell.

Friday May 16 - Esquimalt Lagoon, Coburg Peninsula - Southwest End

Salibonani Alfrescoes. This Friday May 16 2025, we will be painting at the southwest end of the Esquimalt Lagoon (Coburg Peninsula near the public washrooms) (map  here ). For our Show'n'Tell, we will meet at Noon where Ocean Blvd splits into a side road southwest of the washrooms (see map location).

Syāudāi Alfrescoes! On Friday May 2 2025, we will be painting at Hamsterly Beach on Elk Lake. Hamsterly Beach is located on the northeast corner of the lake. Parking is along Hamsterly Road. Friday April 25 - Goldfinch Road - Arts & Culture Society Colwood

Yá'át'ééh Alfrescoes! This Friday April 25 2025, we will be painting at the Arts and Culture Society Colwood (at the end of Goldfinch Road) near Esquimalt Lagoon (map  here ). We will meet at Noon for our Show'n'Tell on or near the deck of the Arts and Culture building (location indicated on the map).

Ekamowir omo Alfrescoes! On Friday April 18 2025, we will be painting at the Chinese Cemetery, located in the District of Oak Bay. A map to the location can be found by clicking here . Friday April 11 - Hatley Park Gardens

Pialli Alfrescoes! On Friday April 11 2025, we will returning to the Hatley Park Gardens, located in Colwood on the Royal Roads University (RRU) grounds. It is a bit of a walk up to the Main Entrance of gardens (see map) from the parking lot.

A map to the location can be found by clicking  here . There is no charge to visit the gardens themselves but pay parking is in effect in all RRU parking lots and is $2/hour. We'll meet in front of the parking area, under the big tree (see map) at Noon for our Show'n'Tell.

Friday April 4 - Viaduct Flats - Daffodil Fields

Hę̄r’s cē Alfrescoes. This Friday April 4 2025, we are heading to Viaduct Flats, near the Daffodil Fields (see image below) (the daffodils should be out properly now). Near the entrance to the Viaduct parking lot, there is a path to the right that will lead you to the daffodil fields ( here  is a map of the location).

We will meet at noon at Bob & Gwen's (478 Viaduct Avenue) for our Show'n'Tell. Bob will have some donated art materials to share and Gwen will have some goodies.

Friday February 21 - Delora Drive Colwood

Aydun? Alfrescoes! This Friday, February 21 2025, we will be painting in Colwood at Desiree's house (546 Delora Drive). A map of the location can be found  here .  Hopefully it won't be raining, but if it is we can paint under a large deck. There are nice views of the Olympic Mountains, as well as views of the city from a nearby Lookout. FYI this is the 600th posting of the Alfrescoes location since Wayne and Des took over that role.

Gwe’ Alfrescoes! This Friday February 14 2025, we will be painting at Ross Bay (directions  here ). The Ross Bay Cemetery is here with some lovely monuments, paths, trees, etc. We also have access to the shoreline across Dallas Road. We'll meet for our Show'n'Tell at Noon near the Cemetery washroom area at the corner of Dallas Road and Memorial Crescent.

Friday February 7 - Craigdarroch Castle

Mulkut AlFrescoes!. This Friday February 7 2025, we are painting around Craigdarroch Castle. A map showing directions to the Castle can be found by clicking  here .

There is some parking on site, however, please do not overfill the lot. Leave 10 spots for regular Castle visitors. There is street parking as well. Unfortunately, there are no public washrooms available to us in the Castle, but there is a Shell gas station at Fort and Yates, at the end of Joan Crescent.

We will meet at the Southwest corner of the parking lot at Noon (see image below) for our Show'n'Tell.
