Friday December 23 - St Mary the Virgin Anglican Church Metchosin

Waachiyaa Alfrescoes! This Friday December 23 2016, we will be painting on the grounds of the St Mary the Virgin Anglican Church, in Metchosin.

Directions to the location can be found  here . We'll meet at Noon for our Show'n'Tell on the church grounds.

Friday December 16 - Viaduct Flats and Christmas Potluck

Bonghjornu Alfrescoes. This Friday December 16 2016, we will be painting at Viaduct Flats and/or on Gwen and Bob's property. Parking can be found at the Viaduct Flats parking lot, near the intersection of Viaduct Avenue and Interurban Road ( here  is a map of the location).

Our Christmas Potluck is hosted by Gwen and Bob Langford (478 Viaduct Ave) just up the street. The Potluck will begin after painting around 12:00 to 12:30. Bring something yummy to share with the group. See you all there.

Halito Alfrescoes. Our next paint-out (Friday December 2 2016) will be at Government House (1401 Rockland Street). There is limited parking at the House but if you drive up and go past the house, take the left driveway. There is plenty of parking at the bottom.

Friday November 11 - Craigdarroch Castle

Néih hóu Alfrescoes. This Friday November 11 2016, we are painting around Craigdarroch Castle. A map showing directions to the Castle can be found by clicking  here

There is some parking on site, however, please do not overfill the lot. Leave 10 spots for regular Castle visitors. There is street parking as well. Unfortunately there are no public washrooms available to us in the Castle, but there is a Shell gas station at Fort and Yates, at the end of Joan Crescent.

We will meet at the Southwest corner of the parking lot at Noon (see image below) for our Show'n'Tell.

Friday November 4 - Swan Lake

Moni onse Alfrescoes. This Friday November 4 2016, we are heading to the Swan Lake Christmas Hill Nature Sanctuary.

Friday October 21 - Michell's Farm

Салам Alfrescoes. Since we were rained out last Friday, we are trying Michell's Farm Market again this week, Friday October 21 2016. It's pumpkin time again.

Please don't use the front parking lot of Michell's Farm Market Store as this could inconvenience their customers. There is also parking along the road. Please don't park in any of the farm fields as it could cause damage. A map of the location can be found  here .

We will meet behind the market at Noon for our Show'n'Tell.

Friday September 30 - St. Stephen's Church

Bon dia Alfrescoes. Since we were rained out last Friday, this Friday September 30 2016, we will be returning to the heritage St. Stephen's Anglican Church in Saanichton (map  here ). The old Church and Cemetery are on St. Stephen's Road. Please drive past the new church, continuing down to the Cemetery (identified by the red circle in the image below). We'll meet at the Cemetery at Noon for our Show'n'Tell.

Oi Alfrescoes. This Friday September 23 2016, we will be painting at the heritage St. Stephen's Anglican Church in Saanichton (map  here ). The old Church and Cemetery are on St. Stephen's Road. Please drive past the new church, continuing down to the Cemetery (identified by the red circle in the image below). We'll meet at the Cemetery at Noon for our Show'n'Tell.

Friday September 9 - Westbay Marine Village

Mat an traoù ganeoc'h Alfrescoes. This Friday September 9 2016, we will be painting at the Westbay Marine Village (see location map  here ). We have been given permission to use the parking lot across the street from the marina (red circle in the image below), or if necessary, parking is available on the road.  Please avoid the main marina parking (blue circle). We will meet in front of Gabby's Restaurant (green circle) at Noon for our Show'n'Tell.

Friday September 2 - Frank Mitchell's Farm

Assalamualaikum Alfrescoes. This Friday September 2 2016, we will be painting at Frank Mitchell's farm in Metchosin. There's parking and facilities and everyone is welcome. The address is 530 Witty Beach Road (map  here ). Please remember to close gates behind you so the animals don't wander. We'll meet near the house at Noon for our Show'n'Tell.

Kaixo Alfrescoes. This Friday August 5 2016, we will be painting at the Beaver Lake Ponds. We will meet at the old barn off of Glencoe Drive at Noon for our Show'n'Tell (red square in the image below). See the  map  for the location.

Please note that there is a road closure on Wilkinson Road, between Mann Avenue and Greenlea Drive (in case you are used to using that route).

Friday July 8 - Heritage Acres (Saanich Historical Artifacts Society)

Bunâ dzuâ Alfrescoes. This Friday July 8 2016, we'll be painting at Heritage Acres in Saanich. There are old buildings, farm equipment, a lily pond and a train track. Parking is free, however they rely on donations to keep the place up, so please put something in the donations box. A map for this location can be found  here . The gates open at 9:00. 

NOTE: A seniors group is coming in at Noon for a picnic, therefore we cannot have our Show'n'Tell under the covered picnic area. So lets meet in the large barn area housing the tractors instead.

Friday July 1 - Macaulay Point Park

Hello Alfrescoes. On Friday July 1 2016 (Happy Canada Day!!!), we will be painting at Macaulay Point Park in Esquimalt (map  here ). We will meet at the picnic tables at 12:00 noon for our Show'n'Tell.

Friday June 24 - Elk Lake Hamsterly Beach

Tous Alfrescoes! On Friday June 24 2016, we will be painting at Hamsterly Beach on Elk Lake. Hamsterly Beach is located on the northeast corner of the lake. Parking is along Hamsterly Road. Friday June 17 - Esquimalt Lagoon, Coburg Peninsula

Shlomo Alfrescoes. This Friday June 17 2016, back by popular demand, we are returning to the Equimalt Lagoon, along the Coburg Peninsula (map  here ). For our Show'n'Tell, we will meet at Noon at the bridge, near the north end of the peninsula. Public washrooms are available at the south end of the peninsula.

Friday June 10 - Esquimalt Lagoon, Coburg Peninsula

Tenaisṭəlləň Alfrescoes. This Friday June 10 2016, we will be painting down at the Equimalt Lagoon, along the Coburg Peninsula (map  here ). For our Show'n'Tell, we will meet at Noon at the bridge, near the north end of the peninsula. Public washrooms are available at the south end of the peninsula.

Upcoming Event

Al Frescoes Spring Show En Plein Air

It will be at the Coast Collective from May 18 to May 29. Drop off paintings May 16th between 12:00 and 1:00. Opening Reception is Friday May 20 at 7:00. Bring goodies. Pick up at the end of the show May 29th from 5:00 to 5:30.

We will hang the show in the afternoon of May 16th. Coast Collective takes a 30% commission of sales. Who can enter? - Any artist that has painted with the Al Frescoes once or more during 2015 or 2016. What can they enter? – one or two plein air paintings. Paintings do not need to be painted with Al Frescoes but should not have been in a previous Al Frescoes show. What is the cost? - free

Friday January 22 - Finnerty Gardens

Howdy Alfrescoes! Finnerty Gardens (University of Victoria) is our destination for Friday January 22 2016 (map  here ).

UofVic parking Lot 6 is the closest to the gardens and is $1.25/hour. This website provides more information about Lot 6 and Finnerty Gardens. We will have a "very brief" Show'n'Tell at Noon near the entrance to the gardens.

Following our painting Show'n'Tell on Jan 22, Jean Oliver has organized a talk on Clouds, which is being presented by Edward Wiebe. The talk is scheduled for 1:00pm at the Bob Wright Centre (on campus) in room A307. The best parking for this is across the street from the Bob Wright Centre, in Parking Lot 1.



Please note that Diane Makin's Chili lunch has been postponed for another time.

Friday January 15 - Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Lighthouse

Dabrydzien Alfrescoes. On Friday January 15 2016, our paint out location will be Fort Rodd Hill and Fisgard Light House. The location opens at 10:00 so it is a later start than usual. There is currently no entry fee since it's the slow season, and parking is free. Let's hope the weather is good.
